![]() All with varying degrees of metadata tagging support. There are A TON of different WAV standards unfortunately. That is why that metadata isn't carrying over to iTunes. So the metadata you are adding only lives in the database of the app you are using to tag the file with. Standard WAV files DO NOT have any space in their header for metadata. This is why a lot of music people use AIF files. how do the pro's do this? am i missing something? This is indicative of WAV files. I've manegad to do this with mp3 files but it doesnt seem to work with WAV. inside the tagging programs (Kid3 and mp3 tag) the files have the tags which i have added.īut when i open them in itunes or in the properties menu from the file. but in my music players (itunes, WMP, Google Play music) nothing shows up, just the name of the file. i've managed to get this working when you right click the song file and look under properties. When i add the tag to the mp3 file it works on most common players. This looks realey complicated to me, is this something that a mastering engineer would do for every track or is this something the label does?Īll i want is that when my clients recieve theire song from me, is that when they open it in itunes or in windows the apropriate information (song name, artist, album, track number) shows up.
